Why should I buy from Leather-Briefcases.com? We provide quality leather bags at value prices. Since 1998 we have sold to thousands of satisfied and repeat customers. We're also a family owned and operated business; dealing strictly with briefcases, portfolios, and other leather bags. Since most of the items on our website are in stock at our location, you can be assured we're very familar with our products, and will be glad to assist if you want to know more about a particular item or are unsure of exactly what to buy. Many Internet retailers have their products drop-shipped and never see the items they sell.

What kind of warranty do you provide? Unless otherwise stated, everything we sell at Leather-Briefcases.com comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty. This warranty protects against manufacturer defects such as faulty seams, zippers and buckles.

Do you monogram? Yes, we monogram most items. Look for the Monogram option found on each product's detail page. If monogramming is not available on a particular item, local luggage stores will often perform personalization services for a small charge.

When will I receive my order? Because we stock most of the briefcases and other bags we sell, your order will be shipped and delivered promptly. Most items are received within a week!

What forms of payment do you accept? We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. We also accept money orders and cashiers checks. In order to pay by money order or cashiers check, simply print out the order form page which shows your shipping address and the style/color of item(s) you wish to purchase, then mail that with your payment. Please allow extra time to process your order when paying by cashiers check or money order.

About Our Leather

Where are your bags made? With the exception of a few collections, our leather briefcases and other bags are handmade for us in South America.

It's difficult to buy an item without first seeing it. How would you describe your leather? Our leather is a very thick, yet soft 100% top grain cowhide. We often describe our leather as having a "baseball glove" look-and-feel. The hide resists water and scratches, and has a smooth, durable (not shiny) finish. The color darkens with age and develops a patina that looks better over time.

What should I do if liquid is spilled on my leather bag? Blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. If necessary, use clear, lukewarm water and gently wipe the spill. Dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry. If water is used, clean the entire area where the spill occurred. Do not dry wet areas with hair dryers.

What should not be used to care for leather? Do not use saddle soaps, oils, abrasive cleaners, furniture polish, varnish or ammonia. Most liquids are intially repelled by the leather, but if left to stand over an extended period of time they will be absorbed. That is why it is a good idea to soak up spills from leather immediately. Even if the spill is absorbed however, it should dissipate in time.

Why is leather so durable and easy to care for? Because leather is a natural product, it requires little or no care with normal usage. Our leather bags have already been permanently preserved in the tanning process and need no maintenance other than keeping your leather product dust-free and, if needed, wiped down with a damp cloth and allowed to air-dry.

Shipping Information

I like the fact that you give free shipping but what exactly is "Ground" shipping? UPS Ground shipping is provided free of charge for residents of the lower 48 United States only, and take 3-6 business days to arrive. Please provide a physical street address when selecting Ground shipping, as UPS will not delivery to a PO box.

What if I need my package sooner? Next Day and Second Day air options are available during checkout.

What if I live in Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico? Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico residents are charged $15 for shipping via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Delivery time is approximately 3 days after the order has been processed.

Do you ship to Canada? Yes. The cost is $30. This price does not include any applicable duties, taxes, or other fees assessed by Canada Customs.

Do you ship to military APO/FPO addresses? Yes. We proudly ship to our men and women in uniform. The cost is $15. Please allow extra time due to occasional postal service delays.

Privacy and Security

Leather-Briefcases.com guarantees that every transaction you make with us will be 100% safe . This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and/or alteration of your credit card. Leather-Briefcases.com employs the Internet-standard for secure transactions, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL encrypts your personal information sent over the billing page on our secure server.

Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank can not hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50.00, we will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50.00. Leather-Briefcases.com will only cover this liability if the unauthorized use of your credit card resulted through no fault of your own from purchases made on our Web site while using the secure server. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures

Returns

We provide an unconditional guarantee on all of our merchandise for 30 days from the time your order ships. The only exception to this are clearance or Special Buy items, personalized products, and custom orders; which are non-returnable.

You may return your order within 30 days from the time it ships provided all items are in new and unused condition, with their hang tags on and original packaging included.

A 10% restocking fee is charged for all returns. However, there is no restocking fee for exchanges - Exchanges are charged a $10 shipping fee to send the replacement order to you. Your credit card will be credited in full, minus the restocking fee and shipping charges (if any). Any price adjustments for exchanges will be applied to the credit card used to make the original purchase. Credits for refunds and exchanges will appear after we have received and processed your return/exchange.

Your return will be processed promptly once we receive your item(s). The time it takes for credit card companies to process credits varies, so please allow one to two billing cycles for your credit to appear on your charge card statement.

Important Note: You must email us at returns@leather-briefcases.com to receive return/exchange instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Returns and exchanges will not be accepted without an RMA number. When emailing our returns department please provide your Order ID number or other order details so we can look up your account.
